Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT), known previously
as the Maulana Azad College of Technology (MACT), is celebrating its Golden Jubilee
this year. The Institute, established in 1960, has been named after the veteran
freedom fighter and educationist Maulana Azad and was one of the few Regional Engineering
Colleges set up after independence to provide quality Science and Technology manpower
to build modern India. In the fifty years that followed, it has emerged as one of
the premier institutions in the country has been rechristened as a National Institute
of Technology, and has made exemplary contributions in the areas of Science and
Technology, Politics and Public Administration, Public and Private Enterprises,
Education, Arts and Culture. MANIT ALUMNI has made significant
contributions not
only in India but all over the world.
SPIRIT 2010 is an attempt to capture this spirit of enterprise and innovation,
that is MANIT. It is not only a re-union of MANIT-ALUMNI but is also an attempt
to showcase the achievements of the institution and its alumni. We shall endeavour
to network the existing alumni chapters all over the world and shall create new
chapters, to make a platform for sharing of ideas, to reposition our selves in the
modern day knowledge based society. SPIRIT 2010 shall consider what the Alumni can
do for the Institution and for the development of the State. SPIRIT 2010 is an attempt
to rejoice in the spirit of Creativity, Enterprise and Innovation.
